Denville Social Services COVID-19 Response (posted 4-1-2020)

Because Township Hall remains closed to the public, food pantry clients can no longer enter the building and we are unable to accept food donations from the public. Food Pantry clients have been asked to call (973) 625-8300 ext. 269 to talk with the Social Services Coordinator, Stephen Dublanica, and he will meet them in the parking lot to provide whatever assistance has been arranged. ANY Denville citizen who is experiencing food insecurity or hunger at any time, not just during this crisis, should contact Denville Social Services.

Since we cannot accept food donations, Social Services is asking for monetary donations and gift cards to Acme and Shoprite to continue assisting clients. Gift cards can be dropped in the locked drop box in front of Township Hall. Checks can be made out to “Denville Social Services” and mailed to 1 Mary’s Place, Denville, NJ 07834.

If you would like to donate food, there are many food pantries in the area that need help. To date, we have directed donors to the Interfaith Food Pantry in Morris Plains and the pantry operated by Trinity Lutheran Church in Dover – but there are other groups that need help as well. Please contact Social Services for information.

The Coordinator will closely monitoring his email and phone 7 days a week. If you have a question or concern call (973) 625-8300 ext. 269 or email socialservices@denvillenj.org. Please note, accurate information regarding operating hours or changes in procedure can always be found on the department’s voicemail announcement or at https://www.facebook.com/friendsdss/.

Thank you.
